What are the ethical principles and values that guide the agency's actions?

The Agence de la biomédecine is guided by the ethical principles enshrined in the French Bioethics Act, which provide a framework for its actions in the areas in which it operates. These principles include anonymity, gratuity, consent and equity, which apply to all donations and medical practices involving elements of the human body. Respect for patients and their autonomy is also an essential pillar of our business.
The agency also embodies fundamental values such as neutrality, ethics, expertise and collective commitment. These principles and values underpin all the agency's actions, and guarantee fair access to care and donations for all patients.
